I remember the sculpting well as it was midwinter and I only brought the form indoors to apply gold leaf to the protrusions. The sculpture was delivered to Alonissos, arriving at the museum on my sixtieth birthday in 2006. There, it looks very much at home overlooking Patitiri harbour and beyond to the outer islands.
The dream and the sculpture continue to exert an influence on me. I'm experiencing a strengthening call towards the desert light and the Islamic world. Somehow I sense it is fertile ground for future seeds.
