'All these weeds, mostly plantain and young goldenrods, were done from separate black and white sketches,and then "collaged" together. The pebbles were then added afterwards. Most people say they look like underwater anemonies. That is what I like about them. Maybe you can picture a fish swimming above them. Putting a fish in it would be too obvious though, for that is subtly implied as it is. One woman wanted to buy it but her husband rejected it, because he thought they looked like writhing snakes. So what's wrong with that? Art that sparks the imagination? We can't have that, can we?'
