SOW THISTLES,2004
|
'I did the initial work on this painting on Christmas day, 2003 while listening to Handel's Messiah on the radio. I think it definitely cast a spell on it, which lasted throughout the time I worked on it. The initial first day's work often sets a lasting tone for the whole piece. I felt that using the white dots as an emotional highlight was more important than describing a background. It makes the weeds themselves the sole object of the painting.' |
