This is one of the few paintings I have done in the last few years outside of my property: exposed roots off a highway in the Temagami district of northern Ontario. The place has been designated a World Heritage Site for its stands of 500 year plus tall pines. It is sacred to the local first nations people. After visiting it, I can see why.
