This painting was too easy, I just worked from the first minute to the last! Don't get me wrong, that's a good thing. It was mostly done with a palette knife. The sketch I did it from was 10 years old, unusual for me. It's a scene from Bancroft, Ontario, next to a place in Scotland. It has the oldest exposed rock in the world - there's a strange oppressive energy there. The land mass is at the very bottom of what was once a high mountain range that is now fully eroded. You can almost feel the weight of the phantom mountain!
