BURDOCK AND OATS

This depicts a sunrise but the shadows don't all match that setup. Why not? Light coming from the front enhances the detail of the oats, the light in the burdock is consistent with its placement. The inconsistencies only highlight the fact that I don't paint from photographs - the mind sees things in a more lateral fashion than the camera's lens. |
