AREA OF OUTSTANDING NATURAL BEAUTY
El Mojon is nestled between two areas of outstanding natural beauty.
A short walk or bike ride along the coast and you will see the sand dunes and bull rushes. The beach goes on for several miles.
If you travel in the direction of San Pedro Del Pinatar you will see the area of outstanding natural beauty with the salt lakes that are still being farmed today. The salt mountain can be seen in the distance, and at a glance looks like an iceberg.
There is a marina with new restaurants and bars with views of the sea. The salt lakes attract large flocks of flamingos most of the year feeding from the algae in the lakes.
Local Spanish people use the black mud found down on the quay at San Pedro and cover themselves in it. The mud has minerals that helps with rheumatism of the joints and leaves the skin feeling soft and fresh.
